The Mezzanine BBS Retired
Mezzanine BBS Retired June 18, 2011
August 7, 2011
The Mezzanine BBS retired on June 18, 2011 after 20 continuous years of service.
The Mezzanine went online on June 18, 1991 as Warp One BBS and was later redubbed The Mezzanine. It was a long run, and I'm happy to say we were still attracting new "callers" right up to the end.
In these tough economic times the extra costs associated with maintaining the legacy computer equipment and the dialup line out of pocket become tougher and tougher to support, and the time finally came to say goodbye. To all you Mezzanine users who enjoyed the BBS over the years, thanks for dropping in from time to time and making this a more interesting place to visit.
To Michael Alyn Miller who continued to support the Hermes II BBS software package that hosted this BBS, you have my sincere thanks and best wishes in all your future endeavors. It's been fun.
Happy BBSing, everyone.
Walter
Thank You for Visiting!
